The National
Security Inspectorate is an independent, not-for-profit approvals
body that inspects companies providing home security, business
security and fire protection services. Choosing an NSI approved
company ensures that they work to the highest recognised industry
standards as demanded by the Police, Fire services and insurance
industry. NSI approve companies that design, install and maintain;
Electronic
Security systems ( Intruder alarms, CCTV, Access Control )Fire
Detection and Alarm Systems

BAFE’s objective
is to bring to the marketplace a single registration scheme for each
product or service within the fire protection industry, for which
third party certification has been considered appropriate. BAFE by
adopting this principle helps the end user, whether this is a member
of the public, industry, specifier or regulator to find their way
through the maze of different schemes which proliferate within the
industry.
All BAFE schemes
have one underlying factor. That is ISO9001 or equivalent and a
published technical prescription to which organisations, products
and services can be independently assessed. All of the certification
bodies BAFE works with are United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS)
approved with a scope and experience to work within the fire
protection industry.

The Fire Industry
Association was formed in April 2007 with the merger of the three
main Active Fire Industry Associations:
Fire Extinguishing
Trades Association
British Fire Protection Systems Association
Fire Industry Confederation
